Power cuts delay bullet trains
POWER cuts caused two-hour delays for more than 10 high speed trains yesterday morning. The cuts affected the lines between Shanghai and Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province, and disrupted more than 10,000 passengers.
The cuts, between 10:30am and 11:30am, also affected other express trains on the same route, today's Yangtze Evening Post reported.
The power cuts were caused by the construction work in the section between Zhengjiang and Changzhou, railway officials said.
Frequent delays have been reported on the Shanghai-Nanjing railway since May, mainly because of rail construction work along the route, the officials said.
The situation may not be back to normal until the middle of this month.
