Pretend girlfriend plan ends as tale of true love

A MAN in southwest China paid a woman 1,000 yuan (US$146) to pretend to be his lover to deceive his parents during the Spring Festival. However, the tale had an unexpected, and happy, ending when the pair fell in love.
Wang Xiangzhi, a 30-year-old man from Chongqing Municipality, was told by his parents that he had to bring his girlfriend to the family reunion this year, the Chongqing Evening Newspaper reported.
Wang, who had been single for a long time, decided to pay a girl to pretend to be his girlfriend over the holiday.
Zhang Qin, a 28-year-old woman who was working as a nanny for one of his friends, accepted Wang's request and took 1,000 yuan as payment on February 9.
However, during the week-long holiday Wang fell in love with Zhang.
Meanwhile, Zhang's polite manner and personality had won over Wang's family.
On February 16, Wang asked Zhang if she would consent to being his true girlfriend.
Zhang hesitated as she felt she had been deceiving Wang's family, and had been paid to do so.
To prove his intentions, Wang told his family the truth and again asked Zhang to be his girlfriend. Wang's family also agreed to accept Zhang as his girlfriend. The next day Zhang said: "I do," according to the newspaper report.
