Princess' starts semester with 19 suitcases 鈥 and two guides
A UNIVERSITY freshman from an apparently wealthy family has stunned her fellow students by bringing along 19 suitcases to the campus plus two professional tourist guides.
Her actions have sparked online discussion about luxuries enjoyed by wealthy families, a report said in today's Xinmin Evening News.
The student's parents drove a luxury limousine to send her to college in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, to register for the new semester on September 2, the report said.
On seeing the four-person dormitory, the parents asked the university to provide a one-bed room for their daughter or add a private toilet in the existing dorm, which they said in too poor a condition for their daughter to live in.
The university rejected their requirements, the girl's tutor told the newspaper.
The report didn't name the university but said it is a national key school.
Though the school prepares standard utensils for each student, the girl's parents said she would like to use her own.
The parents hired two local guides to arrange city tours for their daughter. The family is from east China's Zhejiang Province, according to the girl's tutor.
