Probe into crimes of ex-railway minister still ongoing
THE corruption case of the former railway minister hasn't been transferred to the prosecutors, Ke Hanmin, deputy chief prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuratorate said at the ongoing session of the National People's Congress in Beijing.
Ke made the remark at a penal discussion with NPC deputies from Shanxi Province, Beijing News reported today.
Ma Wen, China's minister of supervision, said earlier during a meeting of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a top advisory body to the NPC, that it will be a while before Liu Zhijun's case enters the judicial system, the report said.
Liu was removed from his post in February 2011 over alleged "severe violations of discipline." He was also held responsible for a high-speed train collision last July that killed 40 passengers and injured 172 others.
