Property boss stabbed to death in Hubei

A REAL estate company chairman was stabbed 18 times in his office and killed by a former employee, allegedly over money, a Wuhan-based newspaper reported today.

Police have arrested Zheng Huajiang who they say went to the offices of Shen Tianzhi, chairman and general manager of the Xingli Real Estate Development Company in Shiyan City, central Hubei Province yesterday morning. Zheng attacked Shen with a 30-centimeter Tibetan knife, Chang Jiang Times reported.

The mortally wounded Shen ran out of his office and collapsed in front of staff saying he had been stabbed by Zheng and asking them to call the police. Staff locked Zheng in an office where the police arrested him shortly afterwards.
Shen was taken to hospital with serious wounds all over his body. The hospital said he died at midday.
Zheng had been an employee and shareholder with Shen's company in 1993 but left the company soon afterwards. Shen gave Zheng 30,000 yuan (US$4,386) after a lawsuit but the dispute over money remained unsettled.

Zheng and Shen had reportedly been colleagues in another company before that.
