Prosecutors get case of man accused of killing toddler over parking
THE case of a man accused of lifting a toddler above his head and killing her by dashing her to the ground after a parking dispute with her mother has been transferred to prosecutors, the People’s Daily website reported today.
The 42-year-old Beijing man surnamed Han and his driver, surnamed Li, quarreled with the girl’s mother in Beijing on July 23 because she refused to move her baby stroller to make room for them to park, witnesses said.
Han got out of the car, pulled the two-year-old girl from the stroller, lifted her above his head and dashed her to the ground, officials said. The girl was pronounced dead on July 25, according to the report.
Han was caught on July 24 and Li surrendered to police on July 25. Han and Li were arrested on July 29 on charges of intentional homicide and harboring a criminal, respectively.
Police found both had served time in prison for robbery and Han had been released from prison this year.
