Publishing official expelled from CPC
Qi Pingjing, former deputy head of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China.
The decision was made by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and approved by the CPC Central Committee, a CCDI website statement said yesterday.
A CCDI investigation into Qi’s suspected legal and disciplinary transgressions found he took advantage of his position to seek benefits for others while also receiving a huge amount of money and gifts, according to a source.
He was also found to have embezzled public funds and abused his position to seek benefits for his relatives’ business activities.
The scale of embezzlement and bribe-taking were on such a large scale that Qi will likely face criminal charges, the statement said.
Qi’s profits from his illegal and improper behavior will be confiscated and his case will be transferred to judicial authorities, the statement said.
