Pump splits boy's intestines in workshop prank
A 13-year-old boy in Shandong Province is struggling with death after two bullies inserted a pump nozzle into his anus last week and compressed air ruptured his intestines and other organs within seconds.
Du Chuanwang, a child apprentice of an auto repair shop in Dezhou, a city in eastern Shandong Province, was the victim of this prank that took place last week, local police said. Two co-workers forcibly inserted the nozzle of a high-pressure pump into the boy's anus and damaged his internal organs.
Du was rushed to a local hospital and the workers have been arrested, local media reported.
Doctors said the boy suffered more than 20 intestinal ruptures and multiple injuries to other organs. He is still in critical condition after five days of treatment and is battling stomach bleeding and liver failure.
Du dropped out of school early this year and became an apprentice in the auto repair shop to help relieve the burden on his father, a farmer. His mother died of disease years ago, leaving his family deep in debt.
His father told the media that he could not afford the mounting medical bills of about 20,000 yuan a day as Du is treated in the intensive care unit.
The two detained workers said they had no more money after paying the family about 100,000 yuan, which had already been used up for the boy's rescue.
