Pupil held over teacher’s killing
AN 18-year-old student was detained yesterday shortly after he allegedly killed his teacher, police of Shaodong County in central China’s Hunan Province said.
The senior grade three student surnamed Long allegedly stabbed his class teacher, surnamed Teng, with a fruit knife about 8am. Long and his parent had been talking to Teng at his office in the Shaodong Innovative Experimental School, police said.
The police declined to provide any further details, saying that an investigation was ongoing, but Beijing News reported that Long and his mother were talking to Teng, 49, about the student’s failure in a recent exam.
Just seven weeks ago, Shaodong was the scene of similar killing.
On October 18, three schoolboys, aged 11, 12 and 13, allegedly robbed and killed a 52-year-old primary school teacher. The boys can not be tried as they are minors under the age of 14.
