Qingdao tops list of happiest cities in China
THE China Institute of City Competitiveness has released the ranking of 27 Chinese cities and Qingdao came first in the happiness ranking with a high score of 95.08.
The coastal city in Shandong Province is followed by Hangzhou, Huizhou, Chengdu, Changchun, Nanjing, Harbin, Yantai, Suzhou and Chongqing.
Big cities like Beijing and Shanghai ranked after 90 on the list.
The ranking is based on certain criteria such as people's sense of identity, sense of belonging, social stability, sense of satisfaction, appeal to outsiders, and comments from tourists.
