Qinghai bus-car crash kills 6, dead foreigners identified
SIX people were confirmed dead, including three foreigners, after a bus-car collision yesterday evening in northwestern China's Qinghai Province, police said today.
Another 21 people were injured in the accident, of whom four were seriously wounded.
A Ford car en route to the provincial capital Xining ran into a bus at about 5:50 pm yesterday in Garang Town, Guide County of Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, leaving three people dead on the spot and three more dead later in hospital.
Of the six dead, three were female travellers of a family -- one mother and two daughters -- from Saudi Arabia. The mother was aged 45, and the daughters 19 and 7 respectively, according to the provincial public security department.
The 21 injured included no foreigners, the department said.
All of the injured have been hospitalized, and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
