Rainstorms to hit South China

RAINSTORMS will hit most parts of southern China from Tuesday to Thursday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Sunday.

Rainstorms will sweep provincial areas including Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangxi, Guangdong and Hainan, according to the NMC.

The NMC warned of high risks of geological disasters, including flash floods. It also forecast thunderstorms and strong wind in those areas.

People affected by the rain should take precautions against possible mountain torrents, mud-rock flows and landslides, the NMC said.

Meanwhile, the NMC forecast rain in northern and northeastern China from Sunday to Tuesday, with thunderstorms and hailstones in some areas.
