Rapist of 14 young teens is executed
A RAPIST who attacked 14 young girls in the past decade in a north China city was executed yesterday after his death sentence was approved by the Supreme Court..
Twelve of the victims were younger than 14 years old and the others were between 14 and 18, today's Yan Zhao Evening News reported.
Jiang Yongsheng, 44, a steel worker in Xingtai City, lured the girls to remote lanes from April 1998 to September 2007 by asking them to help him carry books, before raping them, Xingtai Intermediate People's Court said.
He was caught in November 2007 while on the run to Dunhuang City, southwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Jiang was first sentenced to death last January. He appealed to the Hebei Province Higher People's Court which upheld the verdict before another review by China's Supreme Court.
Jiang had caused severe physical and psychological damage to his young victims, the intermediate court said.
