Reporter says expat sexually harassed her
A TELEVISION reporter was sexually harassed by an expatriate when she approached three foreigners for a street interview in Wuhan, capital of central Hubei Province, local TV news reported.
The reporter surnamed Wang said she and a cameraman surnamed Miao were collecting Christmas greetings from expats on Tuesday afternoon in the city’s Wuchang District.
When she tried to interview three foreigners one of them repeatedly said “I love you.”
Miao said he initially thought the young man was just being friendly.
“I soon realized he didn’t have any good will,” Miao said.
The man then started to grab the microphone and Wang’s arms. He shouted to Wang: “Show me your boobs,” the news program added.
“He tried to hug me in a very fierce way and intended to lift my coat,” Wang said. “I felt so scared and stepped back.”
Miao then stood in front of Wang to protect her, which angered the expats. They then swore at Miao, the program reported.
A witness confirmed Wang and Miao’s story.
“They seemed to be involved in a fight,” the witness said. “I think the expats were intoxicated.”
The report didn’t say how the incident ended or whether police had intervened in the incident.
