Reward of 50,000 yuan offered in killing of mom and daughter found nude

POLICE are offering a reward of 50,000 yuan (US$8,205) for information about a male suspect believed to have killed a mother and her teenaged daughter and set their clothes on fire on Saturday at their home in eastern China’s Wenzhou city.
The mother, 33, and her daughter, 14, were found lying naked on a bed. Their legs were scorched and cuts and bloodstains were found on their breasts, according to witnesses quoted in a report by the City Express newspaper today.
No information was given on the victims’ cause of death or whether they were sexually abused.
The victims were from central China’s Henan Province and worked in a shoe factory in Tengqiao Town in Wenzhou. The mother and daughter lived in a rented room of less than 10 square meters on Sinan Road.
At 4am on Saturday, a neighbor saw smoke wafting from their room and called other neighbors to put out the fire. They were shocked by what they found and called police. A pile of ashes was found on the floor.
Police in Lucheng City said they think the suspect was a man. Someone saw a man leaving the women’s room. Police said there was little evidence left at the scene, but they hope to get more information from the response to the reward offer.
