Robber kills female student in college washroom

POLICE in eastern Shandong Province have arrested a man who allegedly killed a 19-year-old female college student in a school washroom, robbed her mobile phone and sold it for 50 yuan (US$7.7).
The 22-year-old man surnamed Gao said he lurked in a washroom cubic waiting for his target -- vulnerable female student who came alone -- to get some money on Tuesday afternoon, Bandao.cn, a local news portal, reported today.
When the victim, whose name was not disclosed, entered the washroom, Gao covered her mouth, dragged her hair and pushed her against a wall. He stabbed her with a knife and suffocated her to death. Gao fled the scene with the victim's mobile phone, police said.
Gao then sold the phone to a shop in Yantai where he was jobless and ran out of money to pay his rent. He was arrested by Yantai police on Wednesday.
