Robbery, prostitution, loan sharking 'lead to riches'
AN eight-year-old student in southwest China shocked his teacher by writing three words he thought would pave his way to becoming rich - robbery, prostitution and loan sharking.
The boy was one of 30 children gathered for a lesson to build up their economic mindset yesterday in Xinshan City, Chongqing Municipality.
When the teacher surnamed Cao asked how to make money, the boy, after deep consideration, wrote down the words, reported Chongqing Times today.
The boy said he got the answers from TV gangster movies. His father, who is a driver, said he was also surprised and will educate him about the right way to make money.
Other children said finding a high-paying job or buying stocks would help make them rich.
Children are easily influenced by parents and other information from mass media and based on the knowledge, they will form their own way of thinking about money, said Cao.
Cao suggested parents to communicate often with children and lead them in the right way.
Parents can teach children about the value of money since they are three years old. When they grow up to five or six years old, they can learn to buy tiny things like toys or snack on themselves.
