Rumors grow of Gong Li divorce

CHINESE actress Gong Li has divorced her Singaporean husband, according to a source close to her agent.
Gong ended her marriage with businessman Ooi Hoe Soeng recently, a Southern Metropolis Weekly editor said on the Chinese version of Twitter.
Xie Xiao, executive editor of the Guangzhou-based magazine's entertainment edition, attributed the exclusive disclosure to Gong's manager Christophe Tseng.
"A reporter of ours was informed by Tseng that Gong divorced recently," Xie posted.
Gong, 45, married Ooi, a tobacco company executive, in February 1996, but rumors about their break-up and affairs with both Chinese and overseas actors persisted.
Gong was awarded Singapore citizenship in November 2008.
Tseng declined to comment on divorce rumors last week while Ooi replied: "If the rumor said so, just let it be."
Gong recently attended the 13th Shanghai International Film Festival for a showing of her latest movie, "Shanghai."
