A Chinese man collapsed and died, apparently from a heart attack, while competing in the Fuzhou International Marathon yesterday.
The man surnamed Lu was described as “over 40.” he collapsed about 10 kilometers into the half marathon event, organizers said. was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The organizers said in a statement that they were “deeply saddened.” ethiopian runners swept the men’s and women’s full marathon titles. Gurara Muleta Neda clocked 2 hours, 15 minutes and 39 seconds to win the men’s race, while Deme Meseret Eshetu claimed the women’s title in 2:39.03.
