S. Korea expels 10 Chinese illegal workers, 9 still missing

TEN Chinese have been repatriated after they went missing in South Korea last month and were recently found working illegally at local construction sites.
They were among a group of 19 Chinese who entered South Korea as tourists but left their hotel in Incheon to meet three Chinese labor agents who found them jobs at two construction sites. The three agents were also arrested.
The remaining nine Chinese are still not found.
A Chinese worker could earn 10,000 yuan (US$1,612) or more per month in South Korea, according to the South Korean travel company that organized the trip.
Each tourist paid nearly 30,000 yuan to the three Chinese labor traffickers, the company said.
The 19 Chinese tourists disappeared the second day after arriving in South Korea. They came by a cruise ship from Dalian, Liaoning Province on December 28 and arrived in Incheon the next day.
The tour guide alerted Korean police immediately. All the tourists are men from northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
