SUV rams into demolition team, 11 injured
AUTHORITIES in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, have ordered "severe punishment" on a man who drove a car toward a team of urban management officers who were pulling down illegal houses and injured 11 of them.
The injured officers, three in serious conditions, are being treated in a hospital in Huangpi District after Gong Zelin, a villager, drove his Nissan SUV toward a crowd of some 2,000 urban management officers and construction workers coming to tear down Gong's unauthorized house on Tuesday.
Gong's car stopped after hitting a bulldozer. The driver was also hurt and is being treated in hospital, China News Service reported today.
