IN commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the victory over Japanese invaders, China will give some war veterans a one-time payment of 3,000 yuan (US$440) to honor their contributions. The payment will go to veterans who joined the army between July 7, 1937, and September 2, 1945, and who now live in rural areas.
