Scandal over answers to government test

OFFICIALS in northeast China's Jilin Province are investigating a government recruitment test during which the answers were broadcast through the radio system.

The test was held last Saturday in Tonghua City No.9 Middle School, Xinhua news agency reported today.

As the test progressed, a series of numbers was heard in a woman's voice over the classroom's speakers.

As the voice became louder, test sitters and supervisors realized the numbers were answers to the test and switched off the school's radio studio broadcast.

Tonghua government immediately launched an investigation and the provincial superior stepped in.

Twenty-eight people, including government workers, were detained last week for leaking the answers to government recruitment tests in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Xiao Hua, Party secretary of Guangxi Personnel and Social Security Bureau, resigned over the scandal.
