School bus roll-over injured 35 children

A school bus in northern Liaoning Province rolled over on icy road yesterday morning, injuring 35 kindergarten children, China National Radio reported today.
Local administration said the bus was not overloaded, as there were 39 children and two adults -- the driver and the conductor -- on the bus which belonged to Baoshan Town Central School of Fengxian City.
Initial investigation showed that the bus slipped and rolled over on the icy road caused by rain and freezing weather.
Most of the injured were slightly hurt and two of them were in hopital intensive care unit for treatment. None of the injuries was life-threatening.
China just launched a nationwide inspection on school bus safety after a severely overloaded minibus of a kindergarten in northwest Gansu Province crashed, which killed 19 pupils, two adults and injured 43 others.
