School head sacked over girl's bashing

THE principal of a middle school has been sacked after a video clip of 11 of his students beating up a girl pupil circulated on the Internet.
Wei Zheming, the head of Guandu No.1 Middle School in Yunnan Province's capital Kunming was held responsible for the clip's bad public influence, said Guandu District government last night.
The 11 boys were eighth graders who filmed themselves beating up a girl surnamed Xu at a river bank on November 23.
Parents of three boys were willing to pay 100 yuan (US$14.64) as medical compensation.
