School sued after children die in bloodbath
A SOUTHEAST China primary school has been brought to court for poor management after eight children were killed and five others injured in a slashing spree by a doctor in front of the school in March.
A local court heard the case filed by parents of six of the victims today against the Nanping Experimental Elementary School in Fujian Province's Nanping City, Guangzhou Daily reported.
Zheng Minsheng, 42, the killer doctor, was executed in April.
Parents told the court that the school should bear full responsibility for the tragedy.
The school allows pupils to enter at 7:30 every morning, only 10 minutes before the first class begins, causing throngs of pupils and parents outside the gates. Even a passing car can pose risks to the crowd, let alone a resolute attacker, they pointed out.
Zheng had attacked and wounded 13 pupils in 55 seconds.
