School's web link hijacked by porn hacker

STUDENTS of a boarding school in Anhui Province were stunned to find their school website link on Baidu.com bring up pornographic images and links to adult videos.

Although the link was fixed this morning with the help of Anhui Internet police, the school authorities feared their site would be attacked again as they believed the hacking had something to do with Baidu.com or its business partners.

The link appeared to be fine on other search engines, such as Google and Sougou.

The school's network manager, surnamed Zhu, told Shanghai Daily that they rejected an offer from a company who claimed to be Baidu's partner and was trying to sell Baidu's advertising service to the school.

The service allows buyers to have their links appear on the top of search results.

But the suspected partner, an IT company in Anhui, told Shanghai Daily that someone may have pretended to be their staff in order to cheating money out of the school.

A Baidu official said they have nothing to do with the attack and believed the school's system was invaded by foreign hackers.
