Second horror killing at Beijing complex
A MAN is being held by police after his wife and 10-year-old son were stabbed to death on Sunday morning at their home in Beijing.
The incident happened in the same complex where a man is alleged to have killed six of his family a month before.
Zhang Wuli, 38, called police after Sunday's killing spree, China National Radio reported yesterday.
He told police he had killed his wife and son in a fit of insanity, the report said.
He said he had been hospitalized for his mental problems but his condition hadn't improved. "I don't know what happened. I was just crazy," he told police.
Police said he would be examined and assessed by a psychiatrist.
Zhang told police he had an unhappy marriage, the report said, though he repeatedly described his wife as a nice woman. Zhang and his 37-year-old wife were bank clerks who moved to Beijing's Daxing District a year ago.
In the same complex, Li Lei is said to have killed his parents, wife, two sons and sister on November 23.
He is charged with manslaughter.
