A MAN was on trial in southern Guangdong Province today for allegedly killing a young couple and shooting two policemen dead when he was on the run.

Hu Yihua confessed his crime and said he didn't regret at the court. He could face a death penalty on charge of manslaughter and robbery, today's Guangzhou Daily reported.

Hu robbed and killed a young couple in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province on July 2 then drove their car to flee to the border province of Yunnan in southwest China, but he was stopped by two traffic policemen on a highway in Guangdong for a routine check.

Hu took out a gun and shot them to death, then fled to Xiamen in Fujian Province where he was caught.

Hu said he planned to go to Myanmar to become a professional killer since he was long obsessed with guns and military websites. Police found two guns and an army knife in his house in Zhejiang.
