Severe smog forecast for north of country

The National Meteorological Center yesterday warned of medium to severe smog in northern China over the coming days.
From this morning, southern Beijing, western Tianjin and Hebei Province will be hit by severe smog, according to the NMC. Other areas in north China — including the northern part of Huang-Huai and the Guanzhong region of Shaanxi Province — will also experience poor air quality, it added. It advised people with respiratory problems to stay indoors or to wear protective masks.
