Sex-for-gold-iPhone deal unravels as couple both call cops, both in trouble
A FUZHOU college student agreed to exchange sex with a man for a gold-colored iPhone 5S, but when they both called the cops after getting into a dispute, neither one got what they wanted and both got into trouble, local media reported today.
The woman, surnamed He, said she was depressed when a roommate got a new iPhone 5S recently. She wrote on the signature line beside her name in an online dating chat room that she didn’t have enough money to buy what she wanted, a new, gold-colored iPhone.
He made a deal with a man surnamed Hu for a three-day progressive tryst to exchange money for sex and companionship. On day one, they would go out on a date and cultivate feelings; on day two, they could be affectionate but not have sex; on day three, Hu should buy an iPhone 5s for He after sex, the report said.
On Wednesday, He and Hu met at a hotel in Software Park, and became affectionate in a short time. He asked for the phone before having sex with Hu. Hu did not agree, fearing she might leave after getting the phone. He thought Hu was a fraud and complained she had provided companionship for nothing.
Both called the police, complaining of insults and blackmail, the report said.
He and Hu were told they were suspected of participating in prostitution and would face an administrative penalty, according to local police.
The gold-colored iPhone 5S costs as much as 6,000 yuan (US$988). In China, some consider the gold iPhone as ostentatious and a symbol of nouveau riche prosperity.
