Nine people who had been in close contact with him are under observation but had shown no signs of infection.
Zhejiang Province announced two new H7N9 cases yesterday, bringing the province's total to 40, officials said.
A 54-year-old office clerk from Hangzhou and a 32-year-old farmer from neighboring Jiangxi Province are being treated in two local hospitals.
So far, five people have died in the province, while two have gone home after making a full recovery.
