Shanghai GM to recall Lacrosse cars

SHANGHAI General Motors will recall 40,496 2006-version Lacrosse vehicles due to defective headlights, China's top quality watchdog has said.

The recall, which will take effect from March 1, 2015, involves vehicles manufactured from Jan. 11, 2006 to Nov. 8, 2006, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

Problems in driver model could result in dipped headlight failure on extreme conditions and pose potential safety hazards, the AQSIQ said.

Shanghai General Motors will change the defective parts free of charge.
