Short films to feature at Suzhou tourism festival
THE Suzhou International Tourism Festival, which opens on April 12, will feature its first micro film festival, organizers said yesterday.
Tourists and residents in the east China city are being encouraged to portray its beauty in short films to be uploaded online with the chance to win prizes.
A marathon is being held on April 14 with a cycle tour around the Yangcheng Lake on April 29.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Jinji Lake scenic spot as Suzhou is promoting its allure as an ancient water city.
The lake will be a splash of color as a dozen boats decorated with lights will be cruising on the lake.
Boats from a number of other countries, including Malaysia and the United States, will join Chinese vessels.
Visitors who vote online at visitsz.com for their favorites will have the chance to win an eight-day trip to Taiwan.
The tourism festival will run until the end of May.
