Sichuan deputy governor held in probe by disciplinary watchdog

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Investigation has confirmed that deputy governor of Sichuan Province is now under investigation for serious violation of the Party's disciplines, Xinhua News Agency reported today.

Li Chuncheng, 56, was elected an alternate member of the CPC Central Committee during the Party's 18th National Congress last month.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Investigation didn't disclose any detail of his graft probe.

Media reported earlier that Li's downfall was linked with the arrest of Dai Xiaoming, the former CEO of the state-owned Chengdu Industry Investment Group and once Li's right-hand man.

Shen Yong, a Sichuan police officer, accused Li of buying his position and abusing his power for personal gains in a post on Weibo.com.
