Sichuan reports mass food poison case

HEALTH authorities in southwest Sichuan Province are investigating a food poisoning case in which 396 people fell sick after eating at a wedding banquet.
A total of 123 people are now still being treated in a hospital in Chongyang Township, Chengdu City, the Capital of Sichuan Province, reported China News service today.
The people fell sick after dinning at a wedding ceremony on Octorber 23. The cause of the illness remained unknown, said local authorities.
The State Food and Drug Administration said it will keep a close watch on the development of the case. It will also monitor food security procedures the Sichuan health officials would follow.
