Singer Li Shuangjiang's son caught in road rage assault
Two teenagers were handed to the police after they brutally beat a couple in a road rage incident in Beijing on Tuesday night - with one of the boys found to be the son of famous Chinese singer Li Shuangjiang, the Beijing News reported today.
What's more, the Li Shuangjiang's son who is only 15 years old was driving a souped-up BMW without number plate or a drivers' license. His friend was in a luxury Audi, with fake number plates.
The incident happened at about 9pm when a woman, surnamed Yang, slowed down to turn into a residential complex in the capital's Haidian District.
"The two cars stopped behind us with an urgent brake. My husband went to argue with them and they came up to beat us," said Yang.
The boys then proceeded to savagely beat her husband, surnamed Peng, causing seriously injuries on his head, nose and right eye, witnesses said.
Yang also had an injury to her forehead.
"They shouted who dare to call the police, so arrogantly," said one of the witnesses.
Witnesses said the two boys tried to flee from the scene after the assault but were surrounded by local residents. They were detained by police at 12am yesterday.
So far, the young Li's arrogant attitude has sparked heated debate on the Internet.
A couple who claimed to be Li's relatives went to the hospital yesterday to visit Peng and asked him to give the child another chance.
But the famous singer didn't show up, the newspaper reported.
