Slide ride accident kills 3 and injures 25

THREE people died and 25 others were injured after heavy rain caused havoc on a slide ride yesterday in Jiangsu Province, authorities said.
The accident occurred around 3pm in a scenic zone in Yixing City.
The downpour caused some of the sliding vehicles that people sit on to either collide or skid off the track and into a forest, said a spokesman with the publicity department of the city's committee of the Communist Party of China.
By 8pm, three injured people died after failing to respond to emergency treatment. Twenty-five others were still hospitalized, with two of them in a critical condition, he said.
The accident is still being investigated.
