Snow to sweep north China, rain in south
SNOW is expected to hit north China over the next three days, while rain will linger in the country's southern regions, meteorological authorities said today.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast light to moderate snow and sleet for most of the country's northern and northeastern provinces, part of Inner Mongolia and areas north of the Yellow and Huaihe rivers for the next three days.
The northern part of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region will also experience light to moderate snow over the next three days, the NMC added.
Meanwhile, sheltered by Qinling Mountains, areas south of the Yellow and Huaihe rivers will be unaffected by the snow, although they will receive light to moderate showers, the NMC said, adding that areas in the lower reaches of the Yangtze river will be hit by heavy rain.
