Soldier sought over sentry slaying
POLICE in Chongqing Municipality believe a trained soldier was involved in the fatal shooting of a sentry there on March 19.
Police have distributed a wanted poster showing pictures of a man in uniform.
The poster, issued on April 7 by the city police's Gaoxin District branch, has been distributed throughout the city, the local portal Website www.cqnews.net reported.
The poster features four pictures of a marching soldier and two mug shots. Anyone who can offer information about where the man lives, his activities or personal details will be rewarded.
The Chongqing police have doubled the basic reward to 600,000 yuan (US$87,780) for information leading to the arrest of the attacker.
Police believe the suspect has had military training and served in the army.
The 18-year-old sentry was shot and killed by the gunman outside a People's Liberation Army garrison in Chonging's High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.
