Speeding police car kills mother and boy on opposite lane

A senior police official in Huai'an City of Jiangsu Province has been detained after he allegedly drove his car on the opposite lane at high speed and knocked down a scooter, killing a woman and her boy last Friday.
The victims' relatives told the media that the mother and her son were still alive after the crash but were dragged on the road for more than 10 meters by the police car.
Police came 30 minutes after witnesses reported the accident and they "were busying calling someone and did not leave their car after they saw the accident vehicle was a police car," a witness said.
Witnesses said they saw a man, who was not identified, removing the car's front plate and he was stopped by angry people when he tried to remove the rear plate.
