Speedy link for cities in Anhui
A NEW high-speed railway put into operation in east China yesterday integrates more cities into the high-speed rail network covering developed coastal regions.
The 132-kilometer-long new railway links Hefei and Bengbu in Anhui Province, cutting the trip between them by at least one hour to 38 minutes on train going a maximum speed of 350km per hour.
It joins with the high-speed railway between Beijing and Shanghai, and is part of the special passenger lines that link Shanghai, Wuhan and Chengdu.
It greatly shortens trips from the Anhui cities of Hefei, Bengbu and Huainan to the Yangtze Delta.
