Stepfather accused of torturing boy, who dares not tell mom
CHENGDU police are probing allegations that a 9-year-old boy was tortured by his stepfather who pinched his penis with a nutcracker, broke his arm, burned him with a cigarette and pricked him with a fruit knife.
The man went missing after his wife called the police at the capital city of Sichuan Province. The boy was hospitalized on Monday and doctors found bruises all over his body, Chengdu Business Daily reported today.
"He said my mother would not come back tonight and he's going to abuse me," the boy, identified as Weiwei, told the newspaper.
"He took a nutcracker to clamp on my penis and I cried out. He didn't stop but added a pair of vices. The louder I screamed, the harder he pressed it," the boy said at the hospital, the report said.
His mother Li Xian, 33, said she left the boy to the care of her new husband Wen Hao on Monday evening. She was told the next day the boy had been sent to a hospital, the newspaper reported.
The boy told his mother that since she was remarried last year, his stepfather kept abusing him and had used the nutcracker on him three times, the report said.
"He used a fruit knife to prick my feet until they bled. He also used a cigarette to burn me when I was asleep. If I ate slowly, he would beat me with chopsticks," the boy told the newspaper.
Weiwei suffered a fractured arm last year and he lied to his mother that he had a fall at school. But it was actually his stepfather who broke his arm by pressing him against a sofa, the report said.
Li told the newspaper that she noticed her son's injures but he would say he got those at school. She had never thought her husband would abuse her son. The boy said he dared not tell the truth as the stepfather had threatened him.
Li said she met Wen last July and married him after two months of dating, the report said. She said she didn't find anything wrong with him until he went missing after her son was sent to the hospital.
Wen called Li yesterday afternoon that he would come back and surrender to police, the newspaper reported.
Police investigation is still ongoing.
