Strikers go back to work
WORKERS at a Japanese-owned electronics factory in north China's Tianjin City returned to work yesterday after a four-day strike.
Production at the Tianjin Mitsumi Electric Co factory resumed after an agreement between the workers and employer, , Xinhua news agency said, citing the company. The factory is owned by Mitsumi Electric, a maker of electronic components.
Mitsumi Electric had previously said the 3,300 employee plant, in Tianjin's Dongli District, had stopped production because "some of its employees demanded higher wages and improved benefits."
The report said the workers' "lawful demands" were satisfied, but did not provide further details.
Mitsumi has another factory in Tianjin at the New Technology Industrial Park.
