Subway line cave-in kills 2 workers, injures 2 in Henan
TWO workers died and two were injured after part of a subway line that is under construction caved in this morning in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province.
Four workers were trapped after the accident occurred around 7:15am at a work site on Metro Line 1. Two severely injured workers died at the scene and two remained hospitalized this afternoon, China News Service reported.
Some residents said they think recent rains might have triggered the cave-in. The investigation is still ongoing, and construction has been suspended.
Work on the city's Metro Line 1 started in June 2009 and was scheduled to be finished by the end of this year.
