Subway train driver stops in time after pregnant woman falls on track
A pregnant woman is lucky to be alive as an alert Metro train driver in Beijing pulled the emergency brake and stopped in time after she had accidentally fallen onto the track this morning, Beijing Times reported.
The incident occurred when the woman, who is six months pregnant, fainted and fell off the platform and onto the track at Line 13’s Huoying Station around 8am, the report said.
The driver of an oncoming train, which was decelerating as it entered the station, pulled the emergency break and stopped. A photo of the incident shows the woman crouched down and under the front of the train. Power to the track was cut and station employees helped the woman back onto the platform.
She was sent to a nearby hospital and diagnosed with minor injuries. The fetus was not harmed, the report said. Doctors advised the woman to remain in hospital for further observation, according to the newspaper.
