Successful launch of experimental satellite

CHINA successfully launched an experimental satellite from its Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwestern Gobi Desert yesterday.
The Shijian-11-08 was launched by a Long March-2C carrier rocket at 2:59pm Beijing Time. The satellite, developed by the China Spacesat Co. Ltd under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, will be used to conduct scientific experiments in space. This was the 197th flight of the Long March rocket series.
