'Sugar Daddy' probed for affairs with girls
Education authorities in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province have begun a probe after a local junior high school teacher's amorous letter to one of his girl students was exposed online.
The 45-year-old teacher surnamed Tang admitted to writing the letter when he was interviewed by a local TV station but he denied having improper relationship with the girl, saying he was close to several female students and looked after them like a godfather.
But in the eyes of others who have read his letter, the teacher behaved more like a sugar daddy.
"It has been a month since the semester begun and I have kept my promise to send you a daily allowance of 50 yuan. But you didn't respond to my call and didn't let me touch your body for four weeks now," Tang wrote. "I still remember our first time together. I did my duties, buying you breakfast and cooking your noodles after class..."
Tang said the intimate tone of his letter "was only for fun."
The letter has sparked an outcry on the Internet. The whistleblower told the media that he is the father of the girl's roommate and discovered the letter when his daughter was reading it. He said some boy students also had read it.
He said the letter was written last October before the girl student graduated from the school.
Other angry parents demanded education authorities to conduct a full investigation. "If a teacher would write such a letter to girl students, how can we trust the school to look after our children?" one parent was quoted as saying.
The school said Tang joined the school three years ago and showed good performance in teaching.
