HOLLYWOOD movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron” took 973 million yuan (US$156.8 million) at the box office last week.

The action-fantasy, based on Marvel comic characters, opened in China on May 12.

Second best for ticket sales last week was the action-fantasy “Chappie,” with 21.5 million yuan, China Film News reported yesterday.

Third place went to local movie “You Are My Sunshine,” with 17.7 million yuan, it said.
