Survey finds most Chinese mentally older
CHINA turned out to be the least young at heart nation as a global survey showed more than half of Chinese aged over 45 considering themselves old.
The survey conducted by a British healthcare company, Bupa, covered some 12,000 people in 12 countries in June and July.
More than two thirds of all respondents in China believed they are getting old when they reach the age of 60 while globally a majority of over 65s feel themselves are still young and healthy.
France emerged as the most mentally young nation as some 32 percent of people said the old age starts at the age of 80.
Compared with other countries, Chinese are more pessimistic about growing old. Nearly a quarter of Chinese said they were depressed by aging process, and some 30 percent felt worried about impending senior years.
